Fred Howard Park , west of Florida Avenue, is a 150 - acre county park with a mile-long causeway connecting the offshore swimming area and the mainland. A.L. Anderson Park , a county-owned 128 - acre park on Lake Tarpon, has picnic facilities, barbeque grills, fishing, boat access to the lake and a nature trail. Hours are 7 a.m. to sunset. (943-4085)
Highland Nature Park , owned by the City of Tarpon Springs, is a small park focusing on natural Florida foliage.
There are several playgrounds - Rotary Park, Craig Park, Dorsett Park, Sisler Field, and Riverside Park - with facilities for softball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, shuffleboard, tennis, and children's play areas. Several golf courses are located in town and in the surrounding areas. The City Recreation Department offers a variety of pastimes.
Winding through the town is the Pinellas Trail which extends from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. This trail is used by bicyclists, joggers, skaters, and walkers.
